The Princes Highway/F6 will be developed as a high standard safe and efficient arterial road, providing appropriate overtaking opportunities, formation, width, town bypasses where warranted and improved provision for movement of freight.  As a high priority, dual carriageways will be provided from Wollongong to the Jervis Bay turnoff south of Nowra.  Dual carriageway will be provided to Kiama by 2010.

Corridor Objectives:

  • Four travel lanes from Wollongong to the Jervis Bay Road

  • A high standard, safe and efficient two lane road south of Jervis Bay Road

  • Frequent, safe overtaking opportunities

  • Urban bypasses where warranted

  • Better movement of freight

  • A high quality pavement

  • Reduction of crashes and fatalities

  • Improved efficiency

  • Four travel lanes between Wollongong and the Jervis Bay Road turnoff

  • A high standard, safe and efficient two-lane Highway south of the Jervis Bay Road turnoff
